Adventure

Our partner Timbercoast has been sailing cargo across the world's oceans on its sailing ship 'Avontuur' (Dutch for adventure) since 2016. The team around founder Cornelius Bockermann spent two years converting a 44m long cargo sailing ship from 1920 to make their dream of a 'Mission Zero' come true. With a crew of 5-6 professional sailors, the Avontuur sails twice a year through wind and weather to America and back to Europe. There is room for 10 shipmates who can enjoy a very special sailing experience. Mission Zero is the motto of the Timbercoast shipping company, which aims to reduce emissions along the entire value chain of products. The first step is transport by sailing ship in order to make global trade possible using alternative routes. This involves the sensible use of means of transport and their ecological and economic sustainability. The sailing ship 'Avontuur' of the Timbercoast shipping company is already over a hundred years old and, with the motto 'Cargo under Sails', sets a sign for revolution in global trade and a return to functioning transport routes. Unfortunately, too few products are transported in the Mediterranean, thus preventing the shipping company from operating in an economically sustainable manner in the Mediterranean. Through crowdfunding, with which we will collect financial resources to cover the costs of a sailing transport between Pylos and Genoa, we are setting a ray of hope for the 2025/2026 harvest and thus for sailed TEIKEI olive oil.
